Philippines

Awesome times were had by all, in the only place on earth who really knows how to handle New Years' Eve. The festivities started four days before New Years. The non-stop fireworks began three hours before midnight. I don't think anyone else in the world partied as hard as the people of the Philippines do.

We went to Pagsajan Falls. We boated down the river to the falls, and then we took a bamboo raft to the middle of where the water comes crashing down! The water was totally cold, but fun. We went to a church that was buried in lahar from Mount Pinatubo, so the third story is now the ground floor. We also shopped in the pearl market, which lived up to Heather's hype! It was great because we would name a price, and they would say ok. It was the best bargaining ever.

We met Heather's quilting friends and had an authentic Filipino lunch. Tess made us the best meals. Benny drove us up and down the Philippines.

I met my first ham and cheese empanada and will forever be hankering for it. I loved the Philippines. It was beautiful, fun and cheap!
