Celebration of 50 Years of Missionaries in Taiwan

I went to a totally cool program tonight! As my title aptly states, this year marks the 50th year of missionaries in Taiwan! There have been many celebrations throughout Taiwan. We went to the one in Changhua. We got there a little early and had time to slide down this wicked cement slide at the front of the stadium. I'm not exactly sure if it was meant to be a slide, but we totally used it as one. The program started at 6:00 p.m. It was so interesting. It started out with a little bit of history of Taiwan. There were some cool Taiwanese dances. Then there was the story of how the missionaries arrived and started teaching the elders and then the students of Taiwan. It was amazing learning about what it was like back then. There was totally an interpretation section, so we understood what was going on. Plus, I sat next to a woman who was from Taiwan and spoke English, so I got an insider's look at things the interpreter didn't tell us (like why they performed certain dances and what those dances meant). It was so cool. Then we went to the other Teachers from Maryland school's apartment. Dude. I'm so jealous! They get their own room, three bathrooms to share (with only five people) and they have a dryer. Don't even get me started on the dryer.

Yeah, they definitely weren't here on the 13th like it says... But I'm proud of you for finally posting.

Actually they were, you just couldn't see them. See, for some reason I can't seem to upload pictures. I don't know, blogger doesn't like me or something. Anyway, I had all these drafts saved from stuff I did, but never "published," because I couldn't get any pictures up (and also, because they were just that, drafts, I would start writing and get sidetracked...). But I'm just going to add pictures when blogger finally gets over its hate for me. I didn't know you could edit posts after you posted them, so that's what took so long.

Yes! Help me! So I've tried about 30 times at different times of the day and night to post pictures next to the recycling post. I don't know what the problem is! But it sucks.

I uploaded pictures! I had to do them one at a time, but it finally let me. Enjoy!
