Hot Spring Fun

This Saturday's adventure was going to Guguan to play in the hot springs! It was totally fun! Guguan isn't too far away from Feng Yuan. We took a bus ride for about an hour and a half east. It's this quaint, little town with natural hot springs. Resorts have sprung up around the hot springs, so they are well kept. We first went to the Hot Springs Cultural Center, which explained how hot springs occur naturally. Then we took a look around the Center. This is a picture at the Center. Guguan is a valley surrounded by majestically beautiful mountains. If you are confused at what I'm attempting to do, I'm trying to touch the top of the mountain. It's oddly higher than I am able to reach. Go figure.

After we walked around a bit we saw an awesome suspension bridge leading across a river. Here is a funny sign advising crossers to never "frolic" on the bridge, as clearly it is dangerous. Although, I'm not sure, it might be ok to frolic, just as long you didn't climb it first.

We walked around until we found a nice-looking hotel with pretty hot springs. We found a good one with several pools of different sizes and temperatures. There were even fountains, sprays and jets! It was so much fun running around from pool to pool, playing in warm water.

While we were there, we saw a chic wearing a cake. That's right. Wearing the cake. They have these underground walk-abouts where you can cross busy streets underground to not worry about traffic and lights. These underground sidewalks are another story in themselves. You can find all sorts of weird things happening down there from Tai Chi workout groups to, apparently, ladies in cakes. Here we are in the undergrounds of Taiwan, and there is a chic wearing a cake! I mean, come on! Randomness continues to abound here in Taiwan.
